Each one worn against the body. Nestled inside underwear, pressed against warm skin, tucked into worn shoes or boots, held close for hours until the soft plush fibres have absorbed everything they were placed next to. Plush holds scent beautifully. All those tiny fibres, all that soft pile, pulling warmth and scent deep into the material and keeping it there long after the teddy comes away.

The panda still looks like a panda. The bunny still looks like a bunny. What they smell like is something else entirely.
